New Patient Registration
Cornbrook Medical Practice is a GP Practice serving Manchester City Centre, Manchester Universities and Hulme. We also offer registration to people outside of our area for eg. patients who work in Manchester City Centre. However, you will not be able to obtain a home visit if you need one.
Our patient registration policy does not discriminate on the grounds of race, gender, social class, age, religion, sexual orientation or appearance, disability or medical condition.
Once you are registered, you will receive a welcome email with your named GP, and a text message if you are out of the area. If you do not receive these within a month of registering, please contact the practice by telephone 0161 872 8129.
If you require any additional support with the registration process, please contact the surgery and we will be able to assist you further. Registration takes 48 hours.
We offer general practice services along with enhanced services such as sexual health checks, family planning clinics, minor surgery and gender identity clinics.
Please follow the details below on how you can register with our service.

Surgeries
We are proud to be a ‘Safe Surgery’ for everyone in our community. All are welcome.
Everyone in the UK has the right to free care from a GP. If you don’t have proof of ID or address, you can still register. Immigration status or nationality doesn’t matter - reception won’t ask for immigration documents and won’t share your information with the Home Office unless serious crime is involved.
In partnership with Doctors of the World UK, we will ensure that our practice offers a welcoming space for everyone who seeks to use our services.
Temporary Services
If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a Doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP Practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.
You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local Practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that Practice.
To register as a temporary patient simply contact the practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a Practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
Your Named GP
All Patients registered with the surgery will have been allocated a named accountable GP who will be responsible for your overall care. However, you can book appointments with any of the GPs at the surgery. If you have a preference to which GP you are allocated, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your requests. If you wish to know which GP has been allocated to you, please ask reception at your next visit.
